Eventistry was briefed by Sri Lanka Rugby and Dialog to devise a digital marketing strategy and pre and on ground activations to support ticket sales for the final leg of the Asia Rugby 7s Series. With 11 participating countries; Sri Lanka, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, UAE, Chinese Taipei, China, Kazakhstan, Thailand and Singapore the international series took place at the Race Course Grounds of Sri Lanka.
The Approach
We developed and executed a holistic marketing strategy including bringing in sponsors and activations that would drive ticket sales plus uplifting the overall brand such quiz nights, athlete meet & greets. A final video production documenting the emotional journey of the team, their battle and their victories was produced. Eventistry developed, managed and distributed content for the series in both digital and traditional channels for pre, during and post event. This included electronic, social media, print, radio and out of home.
The Outcome
We are incredibly proud that our campaign resulted in a sold-out final leg of the Asia Rugby 7s Series. Our data-led marketing campaign delivered a substantial return on investment for Dialog which produced best practices that will help lay the foundation of all future marketing activities in rugby and helped generate a new attendance record for the event.
